“Kalitsouni” is the most common snack or desert of the Cretan cuisine. We prepare kalitsounia in everyday life, but also as a treat for weddings, Christenings and all kinds of fests. Every Cretan region has its own recipe of kalitsouni. Some make them sweet, others make them salty, some put cheese inside, others put herbs, some fry them, others bake them in the oven and so on. You may find so many versions of kalitsouni almost as many as the villages of Crete.
After the workshop, we taste the kalitsounia and drink tsikoudia.
